Position Overview: AFREDAC is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Knowledge Management and Capacity Building Intern to join our team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in knowledge management and capacity building within a leading consultancy focused on public health and data science in Africa. The successful candidate will support various projects aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the overall impact of our initiatives across the continent.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge Management:
- Assist in the collection, organization, and dissemination of knowledge resources, including reports, publications, and training materials on the Ubuntu Platform.
- Support the development and maintenance of knowledge repositories and databases on the Afredac Ubuntu platform.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge Afredac products such as case studies, best practice guides, and newsletters.
- Capacity Building:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of training workshops, webinars, and other capacity-building events through Afredac Ubuntu platform.
- Assist in the development of training materials for different course on the platform.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Community Engagement:
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among community members through Afredac Ubuntu platform, forums, and social media.
- Support the organization and coordination of community events, meetings, and forums.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of community engagement materials and resources.
- Research and Analysis:
- Conduct literature reviews and background research on relevant topics in public health, data science, and capacity building for the Afredac Ubuntu platform.
- Assist in the analysis and synthesis of data to inform knowledge management and capacity-building strategies.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support for knowledge management and capacity-building projects, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Data Science, Knowledge Management, International Development, or a related field.
- Strong interest in public health, data science, and capacity building in the African context.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with knowledge management tools and platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of African public health issues and challenges is an asset.
- Proficiency in French or another African language is an added advantage.
